Why Unprotected Marble Fails
Natural stone is porous. Wine, lemon juice, coffee, vinegar, and everyday cleaning products can penetrate the surface and cause acid etching — white cloudy marks that may require professional restoration. Most homeowners and venue operators only discover this after the damage is done.
Traditional sealers slow down staining but do little to address etching. They may require periodic reapplication. RAKU works differently: its molecular approach is designed to reduce liquid penetration and help resist etching, staining, and moisture; results depend on the stone, installation, care, and use.
