RAKU by Lantania — Italian Stone Science

RAKU is a third-generation nanocoating developed by Lantania in Italy. Unlike surface sealers that fill pores temporarily, RAKU reacts with the stone's mineral structure at the molecular level and is designed to help reduce liquid penetration and resist etching, staining, and moisture.

The coating is designed to be unobtrusive — your marble can retain its finish, whether honed, polished, or leathered. Appearance, wear, and maintenance requirements vary by stone, installation, and use.

What RAKU Protects Against

Acid Etching

Wine, citrus juice, vinegar, coffee, and carbonated drinks can etch untreated marble. RAKU is designed to provide a barrier and more time to clean spills, but prompt cleanup remains important.

Liquid Staining

Water, oils, and coloured liquids can penetrate untreated stone and cause staining. RAKU is designed to help reduce liquid penetration; results and cleanup depend on the surface, spill, care, and use.

Heat Damage
